Abstract

In this paper, we examine the IS strategy literature since 2008. Using Chen, Mocker, Preston, and Teubner’s (2010) review as a starting point, we identified 31 IS strategy studies published since 2008. Further, we evaluated previous frameworks for evaluating IS strategy research. Using the conceptions proposed by Chen, et al. (2010), IS Strategy as competitive advantage (I), IS functional strategy (II), and strategic alignment (III), we identify overarching themes and propose there is increased activity bridging the conceptions, providing interesting opportunities for future research. Directions for future research for individual conception as well as bridging conceptions are given.
