Abstract
Advances in otolaryngology are often associated with the development of new antibiotics. In this paper, we review improvements made in the physician's antibiotic armamentarium, with emphasis on antibiotic selection for specific diseases and the effect that drug-resistant bacteria have on the practicing otolaryngologist.
