Abstract

Along with the release of revised guidelines, several pharmacological therapies have become available or are under investigation to help improve outcomes in patients with osteoporosis. Lifestyle modifications have been shown to be useful in osteoporosis management, and the use of medications associated with the risk of osteoporosis should be minimized. Adherence to therapy remains a challenge. Continued research and the development of additional diagnostic and therapeutic modalities are needed.
