Abstract

This chapter presents a framework for classifying a range of conditions that involve compromised tracheal airflow in neonates. The discussion focuses on problems of the tracheal exoskeleton with stenosis, including complete tracheal rings, sleeve trachea, and absent tracheal rings. It also provides an in-depth description of slide tracheoplasty, which has become the operation of choice for these conditions.
