Abstract

The standard infertility evaluation of a semen analysis (x2), ovulation evaluation with basal body temperature charts, urinary ovulation predictor kits, midluteal serum progesterone, hysterosalpingography, and laparoscopy (in select women) is cost effective. Strong evidence supporting the effectiveness of the postcoital test is lacking. However, if the postcoital test is inexpensive it would be reasonable to perform.
