Evidence for possible precursors in the synthesis of growth hormone by rat and human fetal anterior pituitary in vitro

Abstract

The data presented confirmed the presence of an intermediary sized, form of GH in rat and human pituitary gland similar to that which was reported to exist in human plasma. By means of isotope incorporation experiments, it is suggested that the intermediary sized GH may represent a hormone precursor.
