Abstract
Linitis plastica is a rare complication of adenocarcinoma and can affect a variety of organs. Symptoms can arise slowly and may be nonspecific in early stages of disease development. Its detection on sonography has rarely been described, and no cases of its images in the stomach could be found. We describe a case of linitis plastica of the stomach, pylorus, and proximal duodenum initially diagnosed on the basis of abdominal sonography ordered to rule out an abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA). Dynamic sonographic imaging of the stomach antrum and pylorus allowed for an immediate visual explanation of the patient's gastric outlet obstruction symptoms.
