Abstract

Maximum likelihood (ML) and restricted maximum likelihood (REML) methods were used for estimation of variances. Half-sib correlation formula was used to obtain the estimates of heritability. Heritabilities of production traits were low to medium and that of reproduction traits were medium. Heritabilities estimated using ML and REML were better estimates. About nine to 33 iterations were required for convergence.
