Abstract

Health care report cards and performance measures (indicators) are rapidly becoming an important part of providing accountability in the health care system. Still, many health care practitioners, including pharmacists, are unsure how these measurement tools impact them or their practice setting. The goal of this paper is to provide pharmacists with an overview of current performance measurement activities in health care and to provide practical examples of pharmacy-specific initiatives.
