Abstract

The authors describe the prognostic features of NST (non-stress test)-EXPERT, an obstetric expert system designed to assist the clinician in evaluating and interpreting the NST and in making a prognosis of fetal outcome. They discuss the rationale behind this expert system, the model for fetal outcome predictions, and the presentation of the results.
