Abstract

The chapter has two sections. The first deals with cardiac operations that are not specific to a particular condition but are used to palliate anomalies with hemodynamic abnormalities of pulmonary blood flow. The second focuses on issues related to cardiopulmonary bypass and the principles and techniques of ventricular assist devices.
