Abstract

The utility of 1H-benzotriazole as a halogen surrogate in acylation, aroylation, and alkylation reactions is reviewed together with its application to the synthesis of heterocycles, peptides, isopeptides, cyclic peptides, peptidomimetics, and peptide conjugates.
