Abstract
A study was conducted to demonstrate the synthesis and properties of a soluble, solution-processable and stable 6,13-diethynyl-5,7,12,14-tetraazapentacene. The diode was reacted with the anion of TIPS-acetylene to obtain soluble derivatives of tetraazapentacene. The intermediate diol was dissolved in acetic acid/trifluoroacetic acid without further purification and NaH2PO2 and potassium iodide were added to it. Investigations revealed that the unit cell of tetraazapentacene was similar to that of the corresponding pentacene derivative. It was also demonstrated that the differences in computational gaps were consistent with those obtained by the optical spectroscopy.
