note = "Funding Information: Since all parties are lacking important information, outcomes are inconsistent. In order to develop appropriate educational offerings, the process should begin with an understanding of the intended users (patients and/or care-givers). The researchers conducted both qualitative (focus groups) and quantitative (patient and nurse surveys) research in, order to determine (1) what patients say they have been taught; (2) what patients reveal they want and/or need to know about VADs; (3) what information the patient would use in the decision-making process to select a VAD; (4) what nurses teach patients about VADs; and (5) what information nurses feel is necessary for VAD selection for a patient.
