Abstract

One case of compression on neuropathy and one case of iatrogenic stretch injury to the sural nerve were demonstrated with electrophysiologic (EP) testing. Isolated mechanical injuries to the sural nerve may occur more frequently than is generally realized, and EP studies can greatly aid in the diagnosis of these injuries, thus avoiding the necessity for neuroradiologic investigations.
