Abstract

To the Editor: Henzl et al. (Feb. 25 issue)1 report on a multicenter double-blind comparative clinical trial of nafarelin and danazol for the treatment of endometriosis. The study design used preoperative laparoscopy to assess the initial extent of disease and a second-look laparoscopic examination to assess the extent of residual endometriosis. As would be expected, therapy with either nafarelin or danazol resulted in a significant reduction in the endometriosis score as calculated with use of the American Fertility Society's classification system. An unexpected finding, and one not commented on by the authors, was the significant reduction in adhesion scores in.
